Your Change Rest Invitation
Operation: Stand Steady in the Storm
Hey lovely,
A lot has been shifting.
Routines. Roles. Expectations. Plans. Dreams. Goals. Careers. Life.
And you’ve been adapting, adjusting, coping, while the ground keeps moving beneath you.
You’re not failing.
You’re not falling behind.
You’re living through genuinely unstable times, and that’s exhausting in a way sleep alone doesn’t fix.
Things will keep shifting, that's a given. The trick is having something steady enough to catch you between the lurches.
What this doesn’t mean
Let’s steady this:
This doesn’t mean you’re resistant to growth or change
It doesn’t mean you need everything to be certain before moving forward
It doesn’t mean you’re ‘doing change wrong’
It simply means your system needs moments of stability so it can keep adapting without burning out.
If Change Rest is calling you right now
You might notice this if:
You feel emotionally or mentally wobbly without knowing why
Routines that used to work suddenly feel off
You’re questioning your identity, purpose, or direction
A small experiment in Change Rest
Change rest is small, grounded, and surprisingly powerful.
You can't nail down what's coming. But you can keep your eyes on what isn't moving.
If you’d like to explore this gently, I’ve created two optional supports:
📄 A short PDF with three simple change rest practices
🎧 A short audio - a gentle permission to rest
You can’t control the storm.
But you can find your footing.
The world doesn't quiet down.
You just stop letting it drag you with it.
What to notice
What helps you feel grounded when everything else is shifting?
What pulls you off centre?
How does your body hold uncertainty: clenched jaw, tight shoulders, stomach pains, holding your breath like you’re underwater?
Can you soften even a little?
Can you loosen just one thing?
Your body doesn’t have to brace against all of it, all the time.
What to release
The need to control what you genuinely can’t control.
The belief that you have to figure everything out before you’re allowed to rest.
You don't have to solve the uncertainty to find solid ground.
Both things can be true.
A gentle invitation: The Great Rest Experiment
If this resonates, you don’t have to explore it alone.
The Great Rest Experiment is a cosy, supportive Substack community where we explore one type of rest each month, with no pressure to keep up and no expectation to do it perfectly.
We’re walking this path together, and there’s always room for one more.
You’re welcome to join whenever it feels right.
with rest
